- ➤ Former students launched a fundraiser to build a memorial swing on the River's Edge Trail in honor of longtime CMR teacher Josy McLean, who died Jan. 4. The group is raising 4000 dollars for the swing with extra donations supporting trail maintenance in Great Falls. KRTV
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Montana agricultural producers can receive up to $155,000 in federal aid for 2025 crops, with wheat growers earning about $40 per acre. The payments will be distributed by the end of February and industry leaders say the aid is a start to ease high operating costs. Montana Public Radio

- ➤ City Park and Rec crews fixed a mudslide that had closed a section of River’s Edge Trail between the caboose trailhead and Giant Springs Road on Jan. 8. The trail is open today after crews installed drainage work (addressing recurring freeze-thaw issues). The Electric

- ➤ Montana’s health department announced on Dec. 29 that the state will receive up to $1.2 billion in federal funds to boost rural health care (improving workforce retention and access).
