COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On Saturday, hundreds joined the St. Patrick’s Day Parade along Central Avenue as the Ancient Order of Hibernians organized the event to support the Great Falls Community Food Bank. The parade began at 1 p.m. and featured local clubs that tossed candy plus accepted food donations, with food bank director Shaun Tatarka hoping the effort grows in future years.  KXLH

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Cascade County Commissioners approved a 20-year lease for less than three acres at a new solid waste site in Belt and submitted a $300,000 loan application to fund improvements during a March 11 meeting—officials noted that the move follows the closure of the existing site on Dec. 16 and a public hearing is set for March 17. This action aims to manage waste costs better for county residents.  The Electric

SPORTS NEWS

  • RISE Athletics in Great Falls is sending four cheerleading teams to compete at the World Cheer Championships in Orlando from April 25th to 28th, 2025 after finishing in the top four at a January competition in Tacoma + the program will hold tryouts for its seventh season in May.  KRTV
  • RISE Athletics in Great Falls earned four bids at a competition in Tacoma in January—one of the highest invites in its history—and is sending youth and senior cheer teams to the World Cheer Championships in Orlando from April 25th—28th, 2025. The program, which includes athletes as young as six and as old as 18, will hold tryouts for the seventh season in May.  KXLH
