CULTURE NEWS

  • Western Art Week is back in Great Falls with dozens of shows and exhibits showcasing western and contemporary art in free events. The event spans 12 locations and features nearly 800 artists + it is expected to boost the local economy.  KRTV
  • The History Museum and Research Center in Great Falls received the historic Bovey carriage—originally loaned by John Hawks—as a permanent addition to its collection. Museum curator Ashley McCann said the antique city carriage—used by Montana’s elite in the past—is set to be displayed in the museum’s new vault for public research.  KXLH

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Twenty-five students from Great Falls High School, CMR High School and Paris Gibson Education Center were selected for the Business for a Day program, where they attended lectures on wealth management and information technology at D.A. Davidson last Friday. The four-year partnership between local schools and business organizations—providing students insight into potential careers—continues to support their career exploration.  KRTV
  • First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park will host a free family event where Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks biologist Brandi Skone will speak about Montana’s unique swift fox at 1 p.m. on Mar. 29 — visitors can enjoy hot cocoa and coffee while asking questions and learning about conservation efforts and recent translocation work on tribal land.  The Electric

  • A brass plaque honoring late journalist Chuck Johnson was unveiled on Friday at the state Capitol—he was known for a 40-year career covering Montana politics and mentoring young reporters.  Montana Public Radio

SPORTS NEWS

  • Great Falls High sophomore swimmer Seth Woldtvedt won the state 100 backstroke title and earned All-State honors in two events, earning him the Tribune's Boys' Athlete of the Winter award. Coach Ed McNamee praised his hard work and leadership—qualities that helped him move from freestyle to backstroke and surprise his team.  Great Falls Tribune
