ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Great Falls job market remains strong as more residents work and employers offer improved benefits to attract talent. Local workforce growth (361 new residents were added between July 2024 and July 2025) supports plans to recruit companies with higher wage jobs. KRTV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Students at St. Patrick’s Academy East tasted Montana-made foods Thursday during a farm-to-school event sponsored by the Montana Office of Public Instruction to promote local agriculture. The event featured Montana Marinara sauce and tested a new breakfast bar made with Flathead cherries (retaining local flavor). KRTV
- ➤ The Great Falls Public Schools board canceled the May board election — only three candidates filed—so incumbents Bill Bronson, Kim Skornogoski, and Amie Thompson keep their seats by acclamation. The move saved $70,000 and will have Bronson begin his third term. KRTV
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Great Falls had its windiest start of the year with average gusts over 37 mph since January 1 and 13 events at 58 mph or more. Meteorologist Cody Moldan noted a record 106 mph gust near the Rocky Mountain Front on March 19 and warned of more wind as warmer weather arrives. KRTV
- ➤ Helena and Great Falls are experiencing record wind speeds this season. National Weather Service meteorologist Cody Moldan said gusts have averaged over 37 mph in Great Falls since Jan. 1 and residents should be prepared for more wind as spring continues. KXLH
