- ➤ Gov. Greg Gianforte signed a bill on Tuesday that gives public schools a $52 million boost to help cover money lost to inflation — the funds will be provided over the next two years and the law was signed in a classroom at Prickly Pear Elementary in East Helena. Montana Public Radio

- ➤ City Commissioners voted three to two on April 1 to waive fees for military training at the city’s new indoor aquatic facility—military units can train there if they submit annual written schedules. This decision reflects ongoing discussions about managing operating costs while meeting established fee expectations. The Electric
- ➤ The Montana Department of Transportation is seeking public comments on a proposal to resurface three Great Falls road sections—Old Havre Highway, a segment of US Highway 87 and River Drive. The plan calls for milling the existing surface, adding a new overlay plus chip seal and updated pavement markings and signage, with construction tentatively set to begin in 2027 pending design completion and funding.
