- ➤ A power outage affected 2,031 customers on the east side of Great Falls on Thursday, April 2. NorthWestern Energy said crews worked to determine the cause and restore power but did not provide an estimated time for service completion. KRTV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Riverview Elementary’s PTA is raising $38,000 to update the cafeteria by replacing old tables, adding sound panels, fresh paint, and new seating plus running a May raffle offering daily prizes and a $500 Albertsons gift card drawing in June for students. KRTV
- ➤ Foothills Community Christian School in Great Falls is preparing for its 29th-annual spring banquet where youth advocate Dr. Kathy Koch will speak. The community event will take place Tuesday, Apr. 21 at Heritage Inn and is a key fundraiser for the school. KXLH
- ➤ A new national report finds that Montana schools are testing students more than needed even with the rollout of the MAST exam intended to reduce testing time (this has led teachers, parents, and students to worry about lost classroom time). Montana Public Radio
- ➤ Madison Collier visited the Montana State FFA convention in Great Falls to speak with students who say the program gives them new career options outside farming. The event shows how FFA is expanding opportunities beyond traditional agriculture. KRTV

- ➤ The C.M. Russell track team starts its season today at Memorial Stadium, hosting a 12:30 p.m. (local time) meet against Billings West as a mix of experienced seniors and promising newcomers readies the team for meets in Kalispell and a divisional seeding meet in Great Falls on May 22. - ➤ Great Falls High track team starts the season with a noon dual meet against Skyview in Billings today and will host Kalispell Flathead at Memorial Stadium on April 10.
