COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Keep Cascade County Beautiful, a new nonprofit, is organizing community cleanups to improve the county’s appearance, with the first scheduled on May 1 from 10am to 2pm along 57th Street South between 10th Ave South and Second Ave North (meeting at Walmart to pick up supplies).  KXLH
  • Community Health Care Center Incorporated, Alluvion released its fiscal year ending June 2024 financial report, which showed nearly $25 million in revenue and a net income of about $1 million. The report detailed contributions, program services and executive compensation with CEO Trista Besich earning over $266,000.  E-City Beat
  • The April 2026 community calendar lists many local events such as family outings, fundraisers, and holiday parties around town, and residents can also submit their own events for inclusion.  KRTV
  • Keep Cascade County Beautiful, a nonprofit organizing community cleanups, will host its first event on May 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. along a two-mile stretch of 57th Street South (meeting at the Walmart parking lot) as donations for cleanup supplies are welcomed.  KRTV

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Climate models suggest that a powerful super El Niño may develop later this year (potentially bringing milder winters to northern areas including Great Falls) as shifting storm tracks could alter local weather patterns.  Great Falls Tribune
  • Great Falls Public Works Environmental Division partners with Veolia North America to host a household hazardous waste collection event on Saturday, Apr. 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First Street South and Third Avenue South (arrive early as capacity is limited) and accepts only residential waste.  KRTV

  • The Cascade County Zoning Board will review Healing the Circle Lodge’s permit to expand its drug rehab beds from eight to 16 at 2601 Jasper Road on April 16. County staff recommends approval with conditions (no on-street parking and minimum on-site staffing).  The Electric
