Community groups (Dynamic Recovery, The Sober Life, and Alliance for Youth) have adopted Chowen Springs Park through the Adopt-a-Park program and will host a cleanup event this Saturday at 12 p.m. to help keep the park safe and welcoming for families.

City commissioners unanimously approved vacating the western portion of 10th Alley South for a Chick-fil-A project at 721 10th Ave. S, transferring maintenance of that space to the developer.

The decision will let the restaurant combine parcels to simplify legal steps and improve parking and circulation.

University of Providence held its 11th annual Research Symposium today, showcasing nearly 50 student-led projects in fields such as biology and forensic science.
