Great Falls held its annual Ice Breaker Road Race on Sunday when streets were blocked for five, three, and one-mile races with over 2000 runners participating; Park and Recreation is adding an ADA-accessible playground at Morony Park and will offer a free 5k series on Rivers Edge Trail this summer (a move to boost community activities).

On April 22, the city planning board voted to annex 27.03 acres and zone for Upslope Development's Meadowview Village, a 163-lot single family housing project on the east side with planned green spaces, a community center, playground, and indoor sports court.

The plan now goes to the City Commission for approval & is designed to add attainable housing while using private roadways to keep city resources in check.

Montana lawmakers debated SB 535, a bill to create experimental treatment centers that extend the state’s Right to Try law, and the House narrowly revived it by one vote after a heated debate.

The amended measure aims to set clearer regulations—legislators now await a Senate vote while addressing ethical concerns and the idea of medical tourism.

A property tax bill that would lower taxes for primary residences yet raise them for second homes and short-term rentals is awaiting final House approval before reaching Gov. Gianforte's desk after heated debate among lawmakers.

Lawmakers also passed resolutions to study federal funding changes for the state health department and early literacy rates in children, and both measures now await further debate in the Senate.
