  • Great Falls Rescue Mission is facing a growing need for food donations as changes in food stamp access increase demand and is accepting USDA or state-licensed meats and dairy at the Cameron Family Center, 408 Second Avenue South, weekdays 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. and weekends 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.  KRTV
  • Today, the Make-A-Wish Foundation celebrates World Wish Day by honoring a 7-year-old boy's original wish, which started its journey. Locally, Great Falls kids have dreamed of fun experiences, and volunteers (18+) are needed during Give Great Falls this week to help grant wishes at an average cost of $10,000.  The Electric
  • Montana United Indian Association hosts the Rock Your Mocs/Ribbons 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, May 2 at 9 a.m. at the CMR High School track field to raise MMIP awareness, celebrate culture, and promote a healthy lifestyle. Registration costs are ($15 for adults, $10 for children).  KRTV
  • The second annual Bison Blue Rendezvous benefit event for Great Falls High football is set for Friday, May 1 at 410 Central Avenue (Strain Building). It begins with Happy Hour at 5:30 p.m. and will feature a reverse raffle awarding $5,000, silent and dessert auctions with tiered ticket pricing.  Great Falls Tribune

CULTURE NEWS

  • Moccasins and ribbons will grace C.M. Russell High School on Saturday, May 2, as Montana United Indian Association hosts Rock Your Mocs and Ribbons to raise awareness for Missing & Murdered Indigenous Persons and link Native families to resources. Registration opens at 9 a.m. offering speakers, food, + resource booths.  KRTV

SPORTS NEWS

  • Malmstrom Air Force Base hosted its first Airmen's Cup soccer tournament at Siebel Soccer Complex in Great Falls this past weekend. The event brought together military players, college teams, and local squads and is set to grow into an annual competition (with teams from various bases joining in the future).  KRTV
  • The Tribune’s voting for Prep Athlete of the Week is underway with nominees (including standout athletes from softball, baseball, tennis and track) representing local high schools. Votes close Friday, May 1 at 11:59 p.m. and winners will be announced next week.  Great Falls Tribune
