  • NorthWestern Energy has been upgrading Black Eagle Dam since September 2024 by installing a barge landing upstream and reinforcing the spillway to improve safety and ice control. The project is scheduled to complete in 2027—River’s Edge Trail users are advised to avoid the area during river activities.  KRTV

  • Nehemias Valeriano Midence, 21, was arrested on April 23 for stalking, resisting arrest and obstructing a peace officer—he threatened a local woman and ICE placed a hold pending deportation before lifting it so he could post a $5,000 bond with GPS monitoring.  The Electric

CULTURE NEWS

  • Ukrainian ceramic artist Janina Myronova has her 'Folktales and Fanfare' exhibition on display at Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art in Great Falls since February, featuring sculptures and drawings inspired by Ukrainian folk culture and including a nine-foot piece titled 'Meet Me in Montana' that will be permanently installed after the exhibit ends on June 14. She held a reception on May 2 and will lead a workshop today+ inviting local audiences to connect with her work.  KRTV
