COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On Saturday, scores of community members gathered at the CMR High School track for the 'Rock Your Mocs' fun run-walk to raise awareness for Missing-Murdered Indigenous Peoples. The event—organized by Montana United Indian Association and partner groups—encouraged participants to wear traditional moccasins, ribbon skirts, and red to honor Indigenous lives.  KRTV
  • The 25th annual Cruisin’ the Drag Car Show brought thousands of car enthusiasts downtown Saturday as nearly 800 vehicles lined nine blocks of Central Avenue in Great Falls. The event featured a new Cruise the Drag Night Kegger at the Newberry and special guests from All Girls Garage — proceeds supported the Great Falls Public Schools Pantry Program for students with food insecurity.  KXLH
  • Toby's House Crisis Nursery will host the Butterfly and Grasshopper Ball as its largest fundraiser of the year to support emergency child care and help prevent abuse. The organization was founded to honor Toby Perez, a two-year-old girl who died in Great Falls in 2011—focusing its services on keeping children safe.  KRTV
  • The 25th annual Cruisin' the Drag Car Show drew thousands of car enthusiasts to downtown Great Falls where nearly 800 cars lined nine blocks on Central Avenue as they celebrated a 50-year cruising legacy. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Neighborhood Council 6 meets May 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sunnyside Elementary School library to discuss zoning proposals, annexation plans, and a subdivision presentation—Neighborhood Council 9 meets May 8 at 7 p.m. at 1st Church of the Nazarene to vote on a council appointment and review crime mapping and neighborhood concerns.  The Electric
  • The Great Falls Public Schools Board election is on Tuesday, May 6th as four candidates — Craig Duff, Gordon Johnson, Tony Rosales, and Paige Turoski — run for three board spots. Voters can register Monday at the Election Office or Tuesday at Expo Park and drop off ballots until 8 p.m.  KRTV
  • City Commissioners will be asked during their May 6 meeting to set a public hearing on June 3 for Upslope Development’s request to annex 27.03 acres east of Central Avenue and 46th Street to create Meadowview Village with 163 planned lots for attainable single-family homes. The project—supported by city staff and local developers—includes planned unit zoning, key infrastructure upgrades, and private road maintenance that will ease strain on city resources.  The Electric
