CRIME NEWS

  • Great Falls police said they responded to a call just before 5 p.m. on May 15 when a 33-year-old woman was found with a superficial stab wound to her neck at the intersection of 10th Avenue South and 13th Street and she was taken to Benefis Health System Emergency Department—detectives later questioned another person from a nearby motel room.  KRTV

  • Cirque Italia 'Water Circus' comes to Great Falls at Holiday Village Mall parking lot from May 16 to 19, featuring magic, acrobats, aerialists and comedy on a water stage. Today the shows run at 1:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. — tickets cost between $15 and $65.  KXLH

  • Fourth-grade students from Cascade County joined the annual Ag Days event organized by the High Plains Conservation District in Great Falls today—learning about agriculture firsthand.  KRTV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The city planning board voted on May 13 to recommend Benefis Health System's Sanavita Estates plan for a senior living subdivision on a 42.91-acre site at 3015 18th Ave. S., and the proposal now goes to the City Commission for review with plans for a 64-unit apartment building and 28 villas plus street and utility upgrades to support emergency access.   The Electric
  • Dozens of residents attended the Cascade County Zoning Board hearing on May 15 to discuss a special permit for a proposed rehab facility at 2601 Jasper Road in the Belview area, where Healing the Circle Lodge plans to serve up to 18 residents with a rotating staff of three. The board recessed its decision due to an incomplete application and may revisit the plan after considering community feedback—neighbors expressed concerns about the site's suitability while some advocated for better local treatment options.  KXLH
  • The city set a street sweeping schedule for May 19th to May 22nd and asked residents to remove vehicles from their areas between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on their scheduled day — the plan may change due to weather.  The Electric
