CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On Sunday, May 18, Great Falls Police responded to a disturbance at Roberts Apartment on Sixth Street South when 31-year-old Kelsey Staigmiller unlawfully entered a vehicle and an altercation led to injuries that killed Sarah Bailey, whose body was found near First Avenue North and Fifth Street; Staigmiller fled in the car but was later caught near Bonner in Missoula County after officers used less-lethal measures. - ➤ Great Falls Police say that on May 18 just before 6 p.m. a disturbance outside the Roberts Apartment at Sixth Street South led to a car struggle in which 50-year-old Sarah Bailey sustained fatal injuries when 31-year-old Kelsey Staigmiller unlawfully entered Bailey's vehicle, fled, and was later arrested in Missoula County after police recovered a 2003 white Ford F-250 with Montana license plate 2-36260C. - ➤ Great Falls Catholic schools will be rebranded as St. Patrick’s Academy next school year, with Our Lady of Lourdes becoming St. Patrick’s Academy West, Holy Spirit becoming St. Patrick’s Academy East, and Central Catholic now known as St. Patrick’s Academy High School — a launch party is scheduled for Wednesday, May 21 at 6:30 p.m. at Rendezvous at 410 Central Avenue to reveal the new design, school colors, and Wolfhounds mascot. - ➤ Three juniors in the Great Falls Public Schools system earned perfect 36s on the ACT—an achievement far above the state average of 19.5 in 2024. Their strong test preparation placed them among a small, elite group of top scorers nationwide. KXLH

- ➤ Great Falls City Commissioners are considering raising water, sewer and stormwater fees for the upcoming year and may choose increases of 10% or 27% that could add about $2 or $5 to homeowners' monthly water bill. Commissioner McKenney urged residents to attend a public hearing on June 3rd—an opportunity to share their views on the proposed changes and the city’s future infrastructure needs. KRTV
