- ➤ On May 18, police reported that Great Falls tattoo artist Sarah Bailey was fatally injured during an altercation after a disturbance at Roberts Apartment when a 31 year old woman, Kelsey Staigmiller, unlawfully entered her vehicle—Staigmiller fled and was later arrested while Bailey’s body was found near First Avenue North and Fifth Street. - ➤ Roger Hawkes was charged in federal court after he allegedly stole an 18th- or 19th-century flintlock pistol and a replica knife from the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center in Great Falls on September 14, 2024—law enforcement recovered the historic pistol after he sold it. KRTV

- ➤ Governor Gianforte signed two property tax bills yesterday that will ease taxes for nearly 250,000 homeowners and small businesses by shifting higher rates to second homes, short-term rentals and large businesses—offering a homestead exemption and a one-time $400 rebate. Montana Public Radio
- ➤ City staff are removing the old seats from Mansfield Theater this week to make room for new seating in a project costing roughly a million dollars; the decades-old seats will be available for purchase tomorrow (May 22, 2 to 4:30 p.m., $30) at the Civic Center.
