- ➤ Great Falls families will join the Family Fishing Day at Wadsworth Pond Park on Saturday, June 7, from 9 a.m. to noon, where volunteers will teach fishing skills and youth who finish the lessons will earn free tackle donated by the Great Falls Chapter of Walleyes Unlimited — open fishing without a license will continue until sunset. - ➤ Vendors and shoppers are getting ready for the Great Falls Farmer’s Market, which opens Saturday, June 7th at Civic Center Park between Central Avenue and 1st Avenue South—this weekly market will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. until the last Saturday in September. KRTV

- ➤ Kelsey Staigmiller made her first court appearance on June 2 facing felony charges including deliberate homicide, criminal endangerment, criminal mischief, robbery, theft and burglary from a May 18 incident downtown where she is accused of dragging business owner Sarah Bailey several blocks in a truck leading to her death—despite a request from her defense for a bond reduction, the judge maintained her $500,000 bond. - ➤ Great Falls Park & Recreation and the Gibson Park Snack Shack will host the first free Movie in the Park event on Friday, June 6 in Gibson Park near the bandshell where families can watch The Wild Robot a little after 9 pm and enjoy kids’ face painting from 7:00 pm — 9:00 pm, weather permitting. - ➤ On June 2, 2025, Spark! Children’s Museum of Montana signed a lease for a permanent home at 201 Second Avenue South after board members toured over a dozen sites to find a safe and accessible location. The museum began the permitting process and will start construction soon—free pop-up events are planned on June 21 at the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center, July 19 at Gibson Park and August 16 at the Community Early Education Center. - ➤ The Great Falls Public Library is launching its Summer Reading program with two reading challenges that let children and teens earn small prizes for every five hours of reading—registration is available online for those who miss the event. A free kick-off party is scheduled for Friday, June 6 from 12:30 to 3 p.m.—it will be held in the Cordingley Room—and the program will run all summer. KRTV

- ➤ The city closed 3rd Street South from 1st Avenue South to 2nd Avenue South for storm drain replacement as part of a larger downtown drainage project designed to reduce flooding and repair aging utility systems. Work along 1st Avenue South from 3rd Street to 5th Street will begin after July 4 and finish by November — the project is funded by federal COVID relief, downtown tax increment financing, and city funds.
