- ➤ Police pursued a stolen car from Highway 89 east of Great Falls after it was reported around 4:53 p.m. June 4 — during the chase the suspect fired a weapon at officers and the car crashed at 2nd Avenue North and 38th Street, with the suspect taken to Benefis Health System in custody as the Montana Department of Justice leads the probe. - ➤ Officers from the Great Falls Police Department and Cascade County Sheriff's Office are investigating a serious incident at Second Avenue North and 38th Street near a Loaf 'N Jug convenience store after a high-speed chase led a fleeing vehicle to collide with another car and tip on its side; injury details remain unknown, an ambulance left the scene escorted by law enforcement — drivers are advised to avoid the area until more information is available. - ➤ Great Falls City Commissioners voted Tuesday to raise water utility rates by 27% effective July 1 to fund planned infrastructure upgrades, and some residents expressed concern over the higher cost. KRTV
- ➤ The city is repairing a water main on 9th Street Northeast between 32nd and 34th Avenues Northeast due to an emergency break. Crews started at 1:30 p.m.—roadways will be closed for about six hours, and residents may have reduced water pressure or temporary loss of service until full restoration at 5:30 p.m. The Electric
- ➤ MTPR’s John Hooks explained that Montana’s sponsored license plate program lets nonprofits design custom plates to raise funds, with over 200 options including three 'Don't Tread on Me' versions from conservative groups. The 1776 Foundation’s bright yellow plate sold about 4,600 units in 2023 and 427,184 sponsor plates sold last year raised nearly $13 million + state rules require the funds be spent in Montana.
