COMMUNITY NEWS

  • First United Methodist Church in Great Falls is hosting a cleanup kit drive to collect cleaning supplies for disaster victims after a sister church in Colorado sent its 75 kits to help flood victims in Texas — the church aims to rebuild its inventory to be ready for future disasters.  KRTV
  • A dedicated team from The Mighty Thomas Carnival inspects every ride during setup and checks each ride daily before the Montana State Fair opens in Great Falls to ensure safety. The crew of 100 full-time employees works with third-party inspectors (who verify that rides are securely set up during weekly installations and teardowns).  KXLH
  • Cascade County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) volunteers are on standby at the Montana State Fair today to help with minor injuries and lost children until other emergency services arrive. The team is located inside the Mercantile Building and invites fairgoers to ask for assistance or training details.  KRTV

  • Local businesses are pushing forward with updates around town—Discount Tire cleared its project at the former Loading Zone while Texas Roadhouse plans a new restaurant at 1220 10th Ave S and Panera Bread finished demolition at 1322 10th Ave S.   • C.M. Russell High School Chamber Orchestra has been invited to perform at the Northwest Music Education Association Conference in San Francisco from February 25th to 28th, 2026 after submitting an audition—Director Steve Olson and 32 students will host free concerts at C.M. Russell High School on August 7th and 21st at 7:30 p.m. to support their trip.  KRTV
