  • Howard's Pizza in Great Falls announced this week it will stop using its delivery trucks and will complete orders online via DoorDash beginning August 18, citing rising delivery costs as the reason. The Chouteau County Sheriff's Office confirmed a mountain lion attacked livestock in Highwood on August 2, and Great Falls Park & Recreation with the Gibson Park Snack Shack will host a free movie showing of How to Train Your Dragon in Gibson Park on Friday, August 15—face painting will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with the movie beginning at 8:45 p.m.  KRTV
  • Great Falls Park and Recreation and the Gibson Park Snack Shack will host a free Movie in the Park event on Friday, August 15th at Gibson Park near the bandshell. The event offers face painting from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and a showing of How to Train Your Dragon starting at 8:45 p.m. — weather permitting.  KRTV
  • Pam Alfred, one of the first female basketball players for Great Falls High, passed away leaving a legacy of competitive spirit and community encouragement—she was celebrated by local tributes.   • City officials closed a portion of the River’s Edge Trail below the Central Avenue bridge yesterday to repair over 700 linear feet of asphalt, which will be replaced with reinforced concrete.   • Senator Steve Daines visited Malmstrom Air Force Base on August 4 and met with base leaders to discuss plans to upgrade national defense with the Sentinel Program—replacing Minuteman III missiles and modernizing launch centers. He also discussed creating workforce hubs in Great Falls and Lewistown to support service members and local jobs.  KRTV
  • Yesterday, Senator Steve Daines visited Malmstrom Air Force Base to meet with leadership and discuss the Big Beautiful Bill’s funding for the Sentinel project—aimed at replacing Minuteman III missiles and upgrading local defense infrastructure—to better support Montana service members.  KXLH
