- ➤ United Way of Cascade County is holding the 15th annual Stuff the Bus school supply drive today at Walmart and Target in Great Falls from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.—volunteers will distribute supply lists and Big Sky Bus Lines will collect donations to provide essential school supplies for local students. - ➤ Downtown Great Falls will host Great Walls: Great Falls from August 10–17, adding ten new murals to transform local alleyways. Artists from national, international, & Montana backgrounds will create the works to boost safety and community spirit. KRTV
- ➤ Pop star Justin Bieber visited Roadhouse Diner in Great Falls on August 6, 2025. Co-owner Tara Beam said he ordered the PB&J Burger and a $300 payment for his used seat cushion was shared between the cooks and the server—local posts stirred curiosity about his Big Sky vacation. KXLH
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Great Falls City Commissioners voted Tuesday night to send a proposed fireworks ban to the November ballot with Mayor Cory Reeves, Commissioners Susan Wolff, Shannon Wilson and Rick Tryon in favor and Commissioner Joe McKenney against. If approved, the ordinance will ban fireworks that leave the ground or explode—limiting sales and use to novelty devices like sparklers and snap caps. KRTV
- ➤ Great Falls City Commissioners voted on Tuesday to refer a proposal to restrict consumer fireworks—permitting only novelty and ground devices—to the November ballot after weeks of public comment. An additional work session will provide further details before voters decide on the measure. KXLH
- ➤ City Commissioners approved their annual budget resolution and intent to raise property taxes at the Aug. 5 meeting after full proposals were presented on June 26 and July 1, with the tax increase expected to add an estimated $448,822 in revenue (about $2.58 on a $100,000 taxable value property).
