- ➤ Today, downtown Great Falls hosts Touch-A-Truck—a free family event on Central Avenue from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. that features fire engines, cranes, concrete trucks and a quiet hour from 9 to 10 a.m.—while the Junior League raises donations to support local community programs. KRTV
- ➤ Electric City Water Park will close earlier this summer due to poor weather and the back-to-school season, but the park will continue hosting special events—like the Drool in the Pool dog swim on September 6—and is recruiting lifeguards for year-round training. KRTV
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gas prices in the Rocky Mountain region rose to $3.16 per gallon on Monday—up from $3.13 last week—according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The regional price is about 1.3% higher than the US average of $3.12 and marks a second consecutive week of increases. Great Falls Tribune

- ➤ More than 1,100 Great Falls students received free backpacks, sports physicals, and haircuts at a Back To School Blast event held at the fairgrounds on Friday — the free services helped families get ready for school. KRTV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Montana homeowners who lived in their homes at least 7 months in 2024 could apply for the 2025 property tax rebate beginning Aug 15 and must provide details including the property address, geocode, tax paid, and Social Security numbers. The rebate will equal the Montana taxes paid up to $400 with claims processed as received and distributed by Dec 31—properties meeting these requirements will also automatically qualify for the 2026 homestead reduced tax rates pending a mid-October notice. - ➤ Starting Aug 18, the south end of the 10th Street Bridge will close for construction until the end of September—workers will remove the asphalt and install a 6-inch reinforced concrete slab along with a new concrete wall and guardrails.
