  • Speedy Glass and Dynamic Recovery have partnered in Great Falls to host a clothing drive beginning September 1 that will collect winter items such as hats, gloves, and coats for a drop-in center at 220 Sixth Street South — Suite E while donations can be brought to Speedy Glass at 2125 10th Avenue South.  KRTV

  • Great Falls Fire Rescue responded to a shed fire at 601 25th Ave. N.E. on Aug. 25 at 5:21 p.m. and controlled the blaze in about 10 minutes after confirming all occupants had evacuated—damaging the garage exterior and causing smoke damage in the house.  The Electric

  • The Madison Food Park property along US Highway 89 east of Great Falls is back on the market after financial hurdles hindered the project. Great Falls Development Alliance President Brett Doney said the land has attracted its first offer and that GFDA will work with the new buyer on future business plans to boost local opportunity.  KRTV
  • Local business news shows Pomodoro, an Italian restaurant, moving into the former Mrs. Wright’s Pastys at 1008 20th St. S with an expected opening in about five weeks while Jolene Charters takes over The Living Room and Three Moons Body Shop holds an open house today at 5 p.m.—in addition, Julie Curtis of Nosh Catering has been awarded a national scholarship, the Great Falls Clinic Legacy Foundation is asking for sheet and towel donations, and several local events are scheduled in the coming weeks.  The Electric

  • Teachers at Whittier and Morningside Elementary received surprise gifts from Tom and Cindy Duffy's Legacy Foundation on Tuesday to help pay for classroom supplies as they prepared for school starting today—gifts that included $50 bills and licorice for sharing with students or for classroom use.  KXLH

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City officials are planning a new access gate at 4th Street Northeast near the wastewater treatment plant because BNSF closed the crossing while it expands from one to three tracks. The city is reviewing design options and costs including a $2 million gate installation (the lowest-cost solution) to secure emergency access and maintain park connectivity once funds are reallocated.  The Electric
