- ➤ On Monday, September 1, residents gathered at Gibson Park bandshell for Great Falls Rising’s Labor Day event where speakers voiced concerns about workers’ rights, education and the environment—each given three minutes to share their views. The non-partisan group hosted the event from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. as community members brought lawn chairs and picnics to celebrate. KXLH
- ➤ The Great Falls community held the Waffles for Wishes fundraiser where people bought sweet treats to raise money for the Lost Enzyme Project and Make-A-Wish Foundation—helping children with rare diseases. Laurel Gregier, co-founder of the project, said the strong support helped CMR High School freshman Oliver Mills, who has beta mannosidosis, feel encouraged as he keeps his dream of playing basketball alive. - ➤ The annual event Metal On The Missouri showcased Montana’s vintage car culture at the Heritage Center where classic cars from longtime residents were displayed, including Greg Greene’s Copper Rat which features 3,716 pennies in its design. Visitors paid $10 to enter their vehicles and enjoyed live music plus food trucks, prizes and family activities while proceeds supported Kids' Zone programs. KXLH
- ➤ Today the Lewis and Clark Foundation hosted its second annual Metal On The Missouri event featuring vintage cars, live music, food trucks, and family activities across Montana—proceeds from the $10 entry fee support the Kids’ Zone. Organizer Kelly Paladino said the event shows that classic car passion remains strong even as the industry shifts toward electric and self-driving technology. KRTV

- ➤ Neighborhood Council 6 meets at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 3 at Sunnyside Elementary School library to discuss Great Falls Fire Rescue updates and community concerns. - ➤ City Commissioners approved two CDBG funding agreements in August—one awarding $24,000 to Montana Legal Services Association for the Montana Housing Justice Project to help 15 low-to-moderate income families with housing issues and one awarding $111,077 to Spark! Children’s Museum of Montana to add ADA ramps, assist doors and an accessible front desk at its new downtown location at 201 2nd Ave. S. The Electric
- ➤ City commissioners approved a contract with Great West Engineering in August to survey and design the next phases of a downtown stormwater drainage project—aimed at adding new inlets and increasing underground pipe capacity. The project is part of the city’s capital improvement plan and will cost $264,097 for phase three and $323,767 for phase four. The Electric
