- ➤ On Saturday, September 6th, hundreds gathered at Gibson Park for the annual Under the Big Sky Buddy Walk that supported individuals with Down syndrome. Local volunteers and businesses organized family-friendly activities (including a dunk tank, games, face painting, and live music) to raise awareness and build further community ties. KRTV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Great Falls City Commissioners approved an $832,995 contract on Sept.2 with Vortex Services LLC to rehabilitate about 11,700 linear feet — roughly 30 city blocks — of sewer main. The contractor will use bypass pumping to keep the lines working — customers will be notified if services are interrupted. The Electric
- ➤ Airmen of the 120th Airlift Wing returned home on September 6 after a four month deployment to Africa — where they supported U.S. Africa Command missions and completed the final C130H flight before switching to the C130J model in October — while Codey McDonald reunited with his 15 month old daughter who had grown since he left in May. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Health officials in Great Falls say the COVID vaccine has not yet arrived since Cascade County's health department is awaiting ACIP guidance scheduled for September 18th and 19th—this decision will determine if insurance will cover the vaccine and affect costs ahead of the respiratory season. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ CMR and Great Falls High golf teams have improved their standings with strong finishes at recent tournaments and are showing a promising fall season. The teams will travel to Billings on Monday and Tuesday to compete at the Peter Yaegen and Lake Hills courses —a move that highlights their growing commitment— as they prepare for upcoming events.
