- ➤ On September 6, hundreds gathered at Gibson Park for the annual Under the Big Sky Buddy Walk—an event dedicated to supporting individuals with Down syndrome using family-friendly activities like a dunk tank, live music, games, and face painting. Organizers, businesses, and volunteers collaborated to make the 14th Buddy Walk a day of connection and awareness in our community. KXLH
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Great Falls will permanently close the north access to West Bank Park via the Fourth Street NE rail crossing in the next 18—24 months to boost safety amid plans for rail expansion near Calumet Refining. Residents will still reach the park from Third Street NW while officials consider a controlled access gate to allow emergency services despite a $2 million cost challenge. KRTV
- ➤ Brig. Gen. Buel Dickson retired this weekend as Brig. Gen. Trace Thomas took command of the Montana Air National Guard after nearly 39 years of service while about 150 members of the 120th Airlift Wing returned from deployment. Thomas said his new command will include a conversion to a new C-130 model and restructuring — plans aimed at preparing the Guard for future missions. The Electric
