- ➤ Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Central Montana launched its Mentoring Moves Us campaign to recruit new mentors and support current mentor-mentee partnerships. The nonprofit raised $130,000 toward a $250,000 goal by the end of the year—this effort aims to create lasting benefits for youth. KXLH

- ➤ The Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art will host its 14th Annual Arts on Fire Festival on Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.—this free event is designed for families and art lovers and will be moved indoors if rain comes. The Electric

- ➤ The Great Falls Public Library launched a teen cooking class program called Five Meals to Make Before You Graduate to help high school youth learn to cook nutritious meals before college or work. The weekly classes will start at 3:45 p.m. on September 16 with additional sessions on September 23 and September 30 — and the program is free to all. KRTV

- ➤ Some Cascade County voters who registered before new laws received a letter from the elections office to update their grandfathered identification flag using a provided form. Voters may return the form by mail, fax, email or in person to keep their records current ahead of the municipal election on Nov.-4. The Electric
- ➤ The public access point to West Bank Park and River’s Edge Trail at the 4th Street Northeast crossing is permanently closed because BNSF Railway is adding tracks, though people can still enter from 3rd Avenue Northwest. City officials are planning to build a new gate—meant to keep the area safe and allow access to the wastewater plant—with work expected to take 18 to 24 months and cost up to $2 million. The Electric
- ➤ City Commissioners approved an updated annexation agreement for Eagle’s Crossing on Sept. 2 that sets a new deadline of July 1 for the developer to complete remaining public infrastructure improvements (sewer, stormwater and water systems, street paving, wiring conduit and curb and gutter work).
