  • Violent and graphic videos have circulated online after a video of activist Charlie Kirk’s killing in Utah spread on TikTok and X earlier this month, exposing millions including young viewers—experts warn that repeated exposure can numb emotions—and Dr. Michelle Hill of University of Providence in Great Falls urges parents to guide their children’s understanding of such content.  KRTV

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Regional gas prices in the Rocky Mountain region declined last week as Monday's average dropped to $3.18 per gallon from $3.24, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The regional price remains about 0.4% above the national average of $3.17—showing a continued market difference across the area.  Great Falls Tribune

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The city planning board will consider a conditional use permit on Sept. 23 for Verizon Wireless to build a concealed 60-foot monopine cell tower in Dudley Anderson Park at 701 33rd S. Staff recommended conditions include a five-year lease starting at $30,000 with extensions—along with design restrictions, driveway construction, and a fenced support area.  The Electric
  • City staff evaluated using tax increment financing for workforce housing and found it does not effectively address filling vacant upper floors downtown, but commissioners directed staff to amend policies so property owners and developers might use TIF funds for new housing projects—changes that could later be incorporated into the growth policy process.  The Electric
