  • Great Falls Neighborhood Council 6 will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 1 at Sunnyside Elementary School library to review a community update from Calumet, election law changes, traffic concerns on 4th through 7th Street on 13th Avenue South, and a crime mapping report. Neighborhood Council 3 will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 2 at Riverview Elementary School music room (streamed live on Facebook) to address traffic and speed limit discussions, park fundraising, and neighborhood concerns.  The Electric

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Great Falls Public Schools board approved changes in substitute teacher pay at its Sept. 22 meeting, setting new daily rates for licensed and unlicensed subs effective Aug. 27—aiming to ensure qualified classroom coverage during teacher absences. The board also approved an incentive pay plan that is estimated to cost the district $47,033 over the school year.  The Electric
  • The Great Falls Public Library is offering seven weeks of free in-person digital literacy workshops on Wednesdays from Oct. 1 through Nov. 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Cordingley Room in the library basement—participants will learn digital basics from Chris DiSalvatore of Great Falls College—Montana State University and get snacks as well as a chance to win an Amazon Fire HD10 tablet.  The Electric

  • River’s Edge Trail on the north shore is closed from noon to 5 p.m. today and North River Road near Black Eagle Dam is closed from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 1-3 for the spillway project — crews will use heavy equipment to pour concrete and move materials to strengthen the dam.  The Electric
