On Tuesday, Oct. 6, Great Falls city staff said downtown TIF taxable value fell from about $2.14 million to $832,000—a drop of roughly 61%—prompting a temporary freeze on new Downtown TIF Building Program approvals; existing commitments will continue as officials work on a clearer revenue outlook.

City officials met on Oct.
6 to consider a support services agreement with TBID—proposing to host an Ironman race series on Aug. 15, 2027, Aug. 13, 2028 and Aug. 12, 2029 in Great Falls. TBID will plan the events and cover costs to avoid city expenses.
