- ➤ Community donors replaced the stolen lodge covers from Chief Joseph and Loy elementary schools by donating two tipis and rallying local businesses for funds—GFPS said the new lodges will be installed at North Middle School for Native American History Month while police investigate the theft from last September. - ➤ The Montana Legislature approved a law change that lets local healthcare professionals hold someone in a mental health crisis for up to 72 hours at a local facility, and officials hope it will speed up care and reduce jail stays. Cascade County Attorney Josh Racki said the law has been used five times (with four cases going to Benefis Health System) as a new tool for crisis response. The Electric
- ➤ City crews have begun the annual leaf pickup in the Boulevard District, moving through six designated areas to collect autumn leaves from residential yards. City Forester Todd Seymanski said the route starts at 38th Street on Central and goes to Park Drive (it is funded by residents’ tax dollars), while officials remind residents to keep only leaves in their piles to avoid delays. - ➤ The city of Great Falls is selling its former recreation center at 801 Second Avenue North — a building that served as the community hub for parks and rec — because the new Aim High Big Sky Aquatic & Recreation Center made it less needed. Bids of at least $800,000 are due by 10 a.m. on November 19 and the building will continue to host childcare and community events. KRTV
