COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Great Falls businesses are offering discounted meals and food donation drop-off points as SNAP payments remain suspended during the partial federal government shutdown. Teriyaki Madness and other local companies are accepting pay-it-forward donations—food banks and school pantries will receive contributions to support growing community needs until November 20.  KXLH
  • Great Falls businesses are helping neighbors during the SNAP payments lapse by offering half-price meals and pay-it-forward options as federal funds are on hold. Local companies are also giving food discounts through delivery apps and working with charities to collect food drops until November 20—efforts that support working families amid rising costs.  KRTV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • At a Nov. 4 meeting, city commissioners discussed using $425,000 in park district funds to repair Voyagers Stadium – the money would cover replacing deteriorated concrete and unsafe netting that have been issues for years. The funding, which requires a budget amendment, aims to keep the stadium safe and prevent future lease problems.  The Electric
  • Great Falls forestry crews will begin one final pass for leaf pickup in the boulevard district on Nov. 7 using the same area order as the first round; the efficient work follows a quicker-than-expected earlier service assisted by decent weather and well-functioning equipment.  The Electric

  • Voting on the Athlete of the Week is underway from November 4 to 7 with nominees including Tayah Osier and Scarlet Harris from volleyball and Mason Cannon and Caleb Taylor from football competing—fans can cast their votes until Friday at 11:59 p.m. Future nominations from local coaches, parents and fans are also welcomed.  Great Falls Tribune
