If you're up early, grab a jacket. KRTV's Great Falls forecast called for Saturday night lows from the upper 10s to the lower 30s, with most of us in the 20s. Sunday brings increasing clouds and highs a little warmer than Saturday, though still cooler than average.
Chilly lows and cool highs mark the weekend

Friday's storm explains the chill. Q2 News said the cold front turned much of the rain to snow across Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming, with Winter Weather Advisories for most of its Billings-area mountains.
- Sunday: a ridge of high pressure is still in control
- Tuesday: Q2 expects most rain and snow in southwest Montana
- Late next week: Q2 sees gusty wind, but limited rain and snow
Then comes a bigger system. KRTV says a much deeper trough of low pressure will approach the northern Rockies from the Gulf of Alaska, bringing more light to moderate rain and snow at times.
Rain and snow chances build through the week
- Oct. 25High pressure holds, and clouds push over far western and far eastern Montana.
- Oct. 26A trough nears the northern Rockies, with western Montana showers possible by evening.
- Oct. 27Light rain and mountain snow are expected in the eastern half of the state.
- Oct. 28A quieter, milder, breezier day is expected.
- Oct. 29-31More light to moderate rain and snow at times, mainly in western Montana.
